ROBERTO ALAGNA STAGES IMPROMPTU PROTEST PERFORMANCE
Date: Dec. 15, 2006 | Category: Music News
LATEST: Controversial tenor ROBERTO ALAGNA staged his own show outside Milan's La Scala opera house yesterday (14DEC06), days after walking off stage after he was booed during a performance of GIUSEPPE VERDI's AIDA.
Alagna quit mid-performance on Sunday (10DEC06), and has been banned from returning with La Scala bosses citing breach of contract.
The 43-year-old returned to the opera house last night and began singing, as crowds arrived for the evening's performance of Aida.
He is desperate to return to the show and has threatened to sue if the 230-year-old institution continues to shut him out.
