Pregnant pop star M.I.A. had TV bosses breathing a sigh of relief, after she delivered a nail-biting performance at Sunday's (08Feb09) Grammy Awards - on her due date.
The singer was scheduled to welcome her first child on the same day as the prizegiving, but refused to let impending labour put a stop to her performance.
With no sign of labour pains, the singer flaunted her baby bump in a snug polka dot outfit, as she performed Paper Planes/Swagger Like Us with rappers Jay-Z, T.I., Lil Wayne and Kanye West.
In a chat with USA Today newspaper last week (05Feb08), M.I.A. confirmed her plans for the show: "They say that you’re often late the first time, so I’m planning to go (and) we’ll see."
