Teenager Taylor Swift has soared to the top of the U.S. album charts with the fourth biggest digital sales week since records began.

More than 129,000 copies of the singer's opening-week 592,000 sales haul were legal downloads.

Her new album, Fearless, also tops America's Top Country Albums countdown, giving Swift a chart double in the genre - her song Lone Story is currently atop the country singles chart .

The news ends a terrific chart year for the pretty blonde, who debuted five songs in the Billboard Hot 100 top 20.

Also debuting high on the new album chart is American Idol runner-up David Archuleta, who enters the countdown at two with his self-titled first album and the 29th edition of the Now That's What I Call Music! compilation series, which falls at three this week.

Rapper T-Pain's Thr33 Ringz debuts at four and last week's number one album, the soundtrack from vampire love story movie Twilight, rounds out the top five.

Also new to the top 10 is Enya's first holiday album, And Winter Came, at eight and Christina Aguilera's hits album Keeps Gettin' Better at nine.
