Comedienne Wanda Sykes was left reeling backstage at the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday (09May09) when organisers told her to keep her hosting duties clean - just before she took to the stage.

The actress admits she found the caution from a White House official more than a little offensive.

She tells U.S. news show Extra, "They told me not to say the 'F' word or the 'N' word... I’m offended they even told me that. What do they think? I’m some ignorant a**. Like I’m going to go in there and say, 'What’s up n**ger.' Like, what the f**k they think I’m going to do?"

"They really think I was going to say that to the President...?"

Despite the warning, Sykes managed to cause a stir onstage - by likening right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh to Osama Bin Laden and wishing for his kidneys to fail.
