SOUTH KOREAN DIRECTOR DIES

Legendary South Korean film director SHIN SANG-OK has died aged 80.
The movie-maker, who was famously forced to make films for North Korean dictator KIM JONG-IL, passed away in Seoul National University Hospital on Tuesday (11APR06) after a long illness.
As one of South Korea's most illustrious film-makers, Sang-Ok will be remembered for causing a stir by filming the first screen kiss in a South Korean movie, in JIOKHWA (Flower in Hell), released in 1958.
