Charlie Sheen is relishing being a family man second time around, because it has come at the right time in his life.

The former hellraising actor had his first child, CASSANDRA, 20 years ago with then-girlfriend PAULA PROFITT, but his career left him little time to spend with his daughter.

Now his wife Denise Richards is expecting their second child - a little brother or sister for 11-month-old daughter SAM - the 39-year-old says, "My daughter Cassandra is 20 and we didn't want to wait 20-years before giving Sam a brother or sister, simply because I don't want to be delivering the poor kid to pre-school when I'm 64. That wouldn't have been good for anyone.

"This was a planned experience because I'm having a baby with someone I'm married to and, for the most part, I'm now an adult making adult decisions.

"When Cassandra was born, I was on the verge of experiencing a successful career and so I didn't feel I was able to contribute time to being a father. I never really helped to raise her, although I was never one of those idiots who didn't contribute financially to her upbringing."
