Arnold Schwarzenegger staged a series of emergency meetings this morning (07JUL05) to make sure his security teams are doing everything they can to keep Californians safe.

Shocked by the bomb attacks in London, the action man-turned-California Governor called his security advisors to make sure the state's public transport system is secure.

He says, "Whenever you see something like this happening, you have to then step up your own security and I've been assured this morning by our homeland security experts that we will do everything we can in order to keep our mass transportation secure.

"This is absolutely important because the safety of the people of our state is the most important thing to us."

Police are on heightened alert in all major American cities after the terrorist bombings, which shut down the British capital's transport system.
