OSCAR TUESDAY SCRAPPED FOR PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION
OSCAR TUESDAY SCRAPPED FOR PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION
Date: Apr. 15, 2008 | Category: Movie News

Next year's (09) Oscar nominations will be announced on a Thursday, not the traditional Tuesday - so as not to clash with the presidential inauguration.

The Academy Award nods were due to be read on 20 January (09) but Oscar bosses have been forced to move the date because it fell on the new U.S. President's first day in office.

So Oscar Tuesday will become Oscar Thursday next year (22Jan09). The Oscars themselves will take place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on 22 February (09).
