RYAN O'NEAL is devastated Farrah Fawcett died before the couple could marry, because they had even planned special costumes to wear at the ceremony.

Fawcett finally accepted her long-term partner's marriage proposal in the weeks leading up to her death, and the couple hoped to tie the knot as soon as she was well enough to attend a ceremony and say "I do".

And, in an interview with American broadcaster Barbara Walters shortly before Fawcett's death on Thursday (25Jun09), O'Neal opened up about their wedding plans.

In the interview, which aired just hours after her death, O'Neal said, "We will (marry).

"I've already got my costume ready. (I'll dress) like a gigolo, with a thin moustache and slicked back hair. We have fun and tease each other about it."
