PULP FICTION star SAMUEL L JACKSON is warning his fans to not call him "Sammy" when they see him out and about - because the name is not nearly cool enough.

The Hollywood actor is willing to accept a number of monikers, but Sammy, he insists, is certainly not one of them.

He says, "I get called Sam all the time. Sam is like the name that people that hang out with me call me.

"People on the street (sometimes) think they're being really cool when they yell, 'Yo, Sammy!' It's like, 'No, no!'

"I'm just not a Sammy. I just don't respond to it. It always sounds so diminutive, no matter how masculine you say it. It just doesn't sound like something you want to be."
