Teachers at ROBERT DOWNEY JR's son's school have threatened to ban the actor from future trips if he insists on bringing a mobile home instead of a tent.

The CHAPLIN star was told off when he showed up for his son INDIO's annual school excursion last year (04), with a fully loaded camper van instead of a traditional tent.

He says, "(My next holiday) is going to be at a campground near Santa Barbara - it's my son's school camp-out.

"They said, 'Mr Downey, we request that this year you don't bring a gargantuan oversized RV.

"This year bring a tent and bring it in the back of your car like everyone else.'"
