A spokesperson for a Filipino airport has cast doubt on reports Angelina Jolie is looking to adopt a child from the Asian country - after failing to find evidence the actress flew into the Philippines.

Britain's Daily Mail alleged on Sunday (12Apr09) that the Tomb Raider star and her partner, actor Brad Pitt, had flown a private jet into Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport last week (begs06Apr09) while Jolie was on a break from filming upcoming movie Salt.

The publication claimed the couple was desperate to adopt a baby from the Philippines after they were refused the chance to take in a child from Burma.

But a spokesperson for the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), which operates the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, claims there is no record of the pair's arrival in the Philippines.

MIAA deputy general manager Tirso Serrano says, "Thus far, it's a negative on any arrival of anyone looking like Brad or Angelina at NAIA. No private jet also.

"We have (had) those rumors since last week. We would have known if they arrived."
